"We stayed in the holiday cottage behind Ye Olde Steppes last week. It was a joy to pop in (most days! and pick up locally sourced produce. We were always met with a smile and a really warm welcome. A shop that is well and truly the heart of the village. It made our stay so much more enjoyable. I can't comment on the tea room as it wasn't open, but had it been we would definitley have taken advantage. Thank you!"

"A wonderful pub doing great food. The team couldn’t be more friendly, and the service excellent. On the night we went we were in a room on our own which meant the atmosphere was lacking. This was caused by cancellations rather than choice we were advised. An otherwise faultless evening. I will absolutely recommend."

"I have been eaten Sunday roast in many great pubs , this was probable in a par with bad school food in fact worse . The roast potatoes where I am sure from the freezer and undercooked not at all crispy . What a shame as cooking a good roast isn't rocket sicence and when this area can produce such amazing local produce. A definite NO from me , a waste of money very disappointed. Wish id of cooked at home and not been charged for this terrible meal."
