"What a find!! Behind a rather unprepossessing exterior we had gin and tonics better than anything we’d had in Edinburgh and steaks which were plump and cooked superbly. Lovely banter with the couple running the place- we were walking the St Cuthbert Way and this was our stand out meal of the whole trip!!!"

"There was a very good late lunch. the personal was really beautiful and welcomed nothing too much from a problem. the meal we had, steak pie and mushroom pasta in a creamy pfeffer corn sauce were for the deserts that we had chocolate wing cake and celestial roulade to die. we should stop, even if it's just for a coffee"

"Despite phoning earlier in the day to book a table in the bar we had 2 dogs) We were told we could not book a table in the bar We asked for a menu at 5pm in the almost empty bar only to be told we couldn't have food until 7pm as that was the slot that was available. Nowhere in their advertising was there any mention of requiring a slot to order food. Pretty poor show , definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone Food: 1"
