Amazing food and beautiful scenery. Camp there if you have the opportunity. Campsites are located on sea cliffs.

Pricey but great food! Loved our time at the cove. We got the mussels, honey garlic wings and chowder. Best chowder i've had in canada by far.

"After an hour driving along really bumpy roads and potholes galore in the pouring rain, we finally arrived in Meat Cove. We were able to see the beautiful view even through the rain and it truly was breathtaking. The Chowder Hut is now no longer a restaurant but rather a food truck serving all of the same food by the same owner and it was the BEST Seafood chowder we had on our trip. However, we were only able to get 1 bowl as she was sold out! We will have to go back for more someday!"

"Tasty food, but make sure you have cash. The first night we didn't have enough and it was late, but they had no problem letting us take the food. We paid the next day, and ate there each day of our trip."

"We were over and decided to stop something fast like a burger. very glad that we stopped because the place was clean, the staff friendly and burger were great. What else could you ask for? the offer seemed to offer a wide choice...of basic type food. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if in the opposite."

"An awesome place to visit and camp, most northerly place you can reach on Cape Breton. Pretty much camping on the side of a huge hill overlooking the ocean. People were very friendly and helpful, and the food at the chowder hut was amazing!"

"This was a good restaurant. The food was great and the lobster was incredibly fresh! There were not many reviews but enough to convince us to try. I wouldn't give 5 stars though for the following reasons: the glasses and plates were not totally clean. That's fine for food but didn't like particles in my water. the fries were cold they didn't have the donair sauce and the other review got me really excited about this. they should have told us how big the subs were!! Two people can easily share this along with some fries and a side. Still, dont let this discourage you too much the food is still really really good!"
