"What a little gem! The owners were 'best kind ' and just the kind of people you want to meet across Newfoundland. Tried the moose burger the moose jerky. They will prepare food time permitting but have lots of items to go at the ready. Lots of odds and ends to look at here, and you can meet 'Miss Treasure ' the moose."

"Good food, table ordered French toast with bacon and breakfast burritos with hash. Lovely cafe, it seems well enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. Great service! Wish they had more seating, but on the plus side there is a ramp so it is accessible to the cafe floor, I’m unsure about the gift shop downstairs. We planning on returning for breakfast again tomorrow."

"We had a fantastic meal at The Black Spruce! I had Sweet Potato soup and a Caesar salad. Both delicious! Our friend had the Lobster Gnochi which we all tasted. Best I’ve ever eaten! I would go back any time and strongly recommend it."

"Simple homemade meals. You get a lot for the price you pay! A bungalow, soup, duck and dessert is a price on their menu. They have a variety of seafood options and it looks as if they try to have at least one country (fangs, beef, etc) option available on the day. Meals are not much seasoned, but they give salt and pepper on the table, so you can season to taste. The couple that leads the place (I think) are very friendly and can tell you about the pictures on the wall."

"These were the best mussels I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve eaten a lot of mussels in a lot of different countries. These tasted fresh from the ocean, and didn’t even need much broth or veggies. They were so simple yet so delicious, especially when dipped in the warm garlic butter. The value is also amazing, getting a ton of mussels for only $16. We also ordered the fish burger and chowder which were fabulous. The view from outside the restaurant it also beautiful!"
