Out of the countless mid-high tier/priced Japanese restaurants in Richmond, this one is my preferred choice. It’s still pricey if you get drinks, but sometimes you gotta treat yourself. Engawa is a must get. Their skewers are cooked nicely. Servers were friendly and checks up on you regularly. The food comes quickly. Overall a good place to get drunk with a friend while eating bites. View all feedback.
What Ava Feterowski-dowling doesn't like about Kyabia Japanese:
Food was extremely average for the price.I enjoyed the sukiyaki and the sashimi was ok but everything else was a miss. The saba oshi was a major disappointment; the rice was mushy and the saba was extremely dry. As for the tempura, you can tell from the photo that the batter is not good and also the sweet potato was a little undercooked. Based on all their high ratings, maybe we just didn’t order the right things but... View all feedback.
Small and intimate little Japanese sushi restaurant located in Richmond. Was in the YVR for a quick girl 's weekend getaway and stumbled upon Kyabia after googling Japanese restaurants. Kyabia had great ratings so we decided to give it a try and we were so glad that we did.We were seated rather quickly considering we didn 't have a reso. The restaurant isn 't very big so I would recommend a reso but you can always try your luck like we did.At Kyabia, there is a tablet on each table and you submit your order electronically. We ordered a roll, some sashimi, Nigeria and press sushi. Our good came fairly quickly and EVERYTHING was delicious!!! The sashimi and nigiri were like butter. So smooth. No fishy taste or lingering old fishy taste. There wasn 't a single thing we ordered that any of us were like this is kind of meh .I loved this place and would definitely go back my next time in the YVR area. I should say it was a bit pricey but in my opinion, it was worth it. One of the best places I have been for sushi in Richmond.10/10 would recommend ?
Service is worse than I expected for its price range. Sashimi is not that fresh. Will not come again. Seat is also not comfortable.
Overpriced for what it’s worth. It was really nothing special. The items on the menus was different than some other restaurants, but I didn’t enjoy the food much. Spent about $200+ for 4 people. Still wasn’t satisfied. There’s def better Japanese restaurants in Vancouver… so better to spend your money in Vancouver.
Had a quick dinner here on the way from the ferry to the airport. The service was great, and the food was very good. The assorted sashimi was a bit expensive, but the quality and selection made it very much worth it. Highly recommend eating here if you get the chance.
