I walked in the door and saw my friend. After hugs I went over to get change for the parking meter. The fellow asked me if I was joining them for lunch and with a positive reply he flipped me a loonie saying "parking was on him ". Things only got better after that! Great place for REAL food. The sandwich I had didn't have processed meat which was wonderful, rare finds in our fast food world. Service can be slow, but just give more time to visit with your friends. read more.

they have an amazing turkey club sandwich with a garlic aioli spread. it's my absolute favorite and rich, and I probably get it two to three times a month

coffee was substandard could of used better blend i guess service was a tad slow and atmosphere was dull prices were’high but coffee size was adequite.

"This place is one of my favorite places in Rossland before it got turned into a Gastropub. I dropped by for a afternoon snack and I got myself the John Candy burger with fries for the first time in years. It was juicier than the...last time I had it. The staff was nice and I made a joke towards the GM, who is a friend of mine. The next time I am there, I hope to be there with friends so we can have a business lunch/dinner."

"Best food I have had in the Kootenays to date. The presentation was incredible. My mom had the ginger beef and I had the pad Thai definitely will be back next time I’m in town. Docking you a star as your waffle iron was out of commission and you were out of halibut. Halibut burger I hear is superb."

"It is what you expect, they will offer ketchup, but that doesn't mean you get it with your order, and napkins seem to be kept under lock and key as well. Bring your own condiments and napkins via drive thru and you will do fine."

"I was there with my sister a few years ago. The food and service was amazing and fabulous. So after the restrictions of Covid lifted, we planned a well needed getaway to BC (from Alberta) around going back to the Colander for another treat to...their fabulous Italian cuisine. While understanding the Covid Restrictions were tough on businesses and restaurant's, I felt I could do no favors by smoozing my comments. The food (spaghetti sauce and meatballs) was tasteless and very disappointing to the point, i will not be back. The chicken was also tasteless and dry. My hopes in this review and others I have read is to allow the owners managers to go back to previous recipe's so the Restaurant can return to it's glor and continue serving for many years to come. ."
