"We walked to here over the fields from Fields End Water site. It was great that they opened from 11am, so we were able to get going on the cold drinks before the kitchen fired up at 12 noon. We found the value of the two lunchtime or early bird meals fabulous, the welcome and service super and would definitely return if we were in the area again. And there were so many other diners arriving, that it seemed 'the place ' to be on a Wednesday lunchtime! Thank you to all staff concerned."

"Visited at 6.00pm when pub wasn't busy. The starter I had was garlic mushrooms which were disappointing. The batter surrounding the mushrooms was hard and difficult to cut with knife and inside was some liquid and mushy mushroom not my expectation! Not sure if they...had been cooked from frozen?? On the other hand my chicken curry based dish was great and my partners minced steak and onion with onion gravy and chips was lovely and appertising. Many types of pie are on offer with choice of gravy and choices of mash or chips. Would recommend both dishes. Publican came over to chat to us which was a nice gesture. Pub got very busy for a Thursday so would recommend booking. Will visit again when in area. Note.. Dog friendly (on a lead) difinitely a plus for us next time. Staff were generally friendly."

"Visited this lovely pub on a cold wet day in March 2022 whilst house hunting. We Liked it so much we bought a house just down the road !! Food is superb, atmosphere friendly, Landlady Maggie makes everyone so welcome and knows her customers really well . What a find on a wet, windy day. We love this place. Thanks Maggie, Conor and Staff."

"After being let down after booking for the Turkish restaurant for my daughters 18th birthday . We didn’t no what we was going to do as family meal wise stumbled soon this lovely Indian restaurant . Luckily they had a table and saved my daughters 18th meal! Not only that food was fantastic fast service. Staff are very friendly . And not only that family friendly . I couldn’t recommend this place enough and will definitely travel back to come again!"
