The new management has done a great job of renovating the place. While I wouldn't recommend it for families, the atmosphere has improved significantly. The drinks are reasonably priced and they now offer cocktails by the glass or pitcher. They've also started booking good entertainment. I would definitely recommend giving the Red Lion another try. Visited Heanor and headed for the Wetherspoons as we wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. We sat down and had ordered a coffee while we looked at the menu. Once we had sat down we realised the seating area looked dated and in real need of a refurbishment. Not like other Wetherspoons we have been to. A good honest, friendly place. Clean and welcoming. Unfortunately it was very quiet and not what it used to be but that's not a reflection on the place or staff...

Gone right down hill since it was wetherspoons nd it wasn't much better then . Not my kind of place .tatty dirty and rough
