"Bill the Texan was rushed off his feet as only staff working when we called. He was pleasant, polite, professional and knew his cheeses when enquired about Christmas hampers. Dailer the lovely lady also a great help. We had no complaints"

"My husband and I always look for somewhere to eat that serves good food and this little café did just that. It was lunchtime, however, my husband had the Scottish breakfast, which completely filled him up for the rest of the day. Freshly cooked, well presented with a jovial side of sarcastic wit from the delightful chap serving behind the counter. Egg, bacon, sausage, tons of mushrooms, beans, haggis, black pudding, toast, and above all, filter coffee, which you can’t really find these days – it usually comes out of a machine. That got an extra star from my husband. I had a tuna fish sandwich, and was happily indulged with red onion on top. This came with a healthy side of coleslaw, a little salad, and a big handful of Doritos style chips. I would have preferred ordinary crisps, but this is just a personal choice. I certainly wouldn’t criticise anybody for this. I had a cappuccino which was served really hot and tasted delicious. We left via the beer garden at the back, having discovered it when I used the bathroom. We will definitely go back for an evening meal and sit outside when the weather allows. As we were heading towards the car park, a couple asked us for directions and we pointed them towards the beach via this café. I hope they took us up on our suggestion."

"I arranged for the owner to prepare some canapés and drinks to entertain a BBC production team once they had finished filming nearby. Nothing was too much effort and as always the food and service was second to none. In essence you get what you pay for and I think some reviewers have unrealistic expectations of what they can get without spending the appropriate sum of money! The bar is small but it's more than ample for quite a number of guests and has bags of character. The London crowd from the TV company where completely enthused by their experience and left with a smile on their face."

"Location is OK. Plenty of parking. Toilet is OK but could do with a hourly clean. Food has to be a hit or miss. We've been 3 times and it's been good and then the 4th time it was bearable. Been 2x more and it's been okish. At the moment it has a zero out of 5 star rating but I believe that it is a mistake by council food safety etc. Downside to the pub is the beer garden. You have to cross a main busy road to get to it and the beer seating area is small. Not much privacy or sheltering. Walkability: Caters for disabled. It's slightly uphill. The rooms are up a step so I don't know if they have disabled rooms."
