"Stayed for 2 nights recently, warm welcome, proper hearty food and a great range of beers and spirits. Treats for the dog. Roaring fires in a very welcoming bar, staff excellent and friendly. Pub nicely situated as a base for exploring the expansive countryside, loads of walkers and cyclists. Place just needs a lick of paint here and there but apart from that it’s a proper pub. "A lovely, friendly traditional pub with a small selection of real ales; the Semer Water (Wensleydale Brewery) is fantastic! My son and I had the steak pie, and my wife had the vegetable lasagne and we were all very happy with it. This was our fourth visit in three years and it is always good at The Crown Inn. Much recommended."
